Huesca Diocese Museum

A magical journey to the Middle Ages through their art.

The Huesca Diocese Museum exhibits representative Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance-Baroque works, inviting its visitors to relive the Middle Ages in their religious facet, so present in the daily life of the time.

Huesca Cathedral leads on to the Museum space, where the Gothic cloister of the famous Papa Luna (Benedict XIII), the altarpiece of the Cathedral and the masonry of the choir stand out especially – basic elements that convey the greatness of mediaeval art to visitors.

The Diocese Museum has an exhibition area of almost 1,000 square metres, spanning Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance-Baroque art and goldsmithing from the cathedral itself and other parish churches of the diocese.

The chapter, the cloister and the parish church of the cathedral are home to the different pieces of mediaeval art, Renaissance painting and goldsmithing, in an interesting tour that includes a visit to the cathedral.
